Even though at one time the story was published under Oscar Wilde's name, the authorship is highly questionable. It would be appropriate to add a note to address this. Otherwise, it's misleading. Most likely, the story was written by Mabel Cosgrove, formerly Mabel Chan-Toon. Initially, she claimed, by providing a letter supposedly by Wilde, that suggests Wilde wrote the story as a private gift to her, but both the letter and the manuscript have been questioned.
