I HAD REALLY WANTED TO READ AN AIREDALE STORY, BUT MOSTLY WAS ABOUT THE BOY AND HIS FRIENDS' ADVENTURES. SAD ENDING.
Enjoyed this tale immensely.
This is told in such a natural way, you know that it was all true and surely this author's memories. If you have a male Airedale it will make you smile many times, as I did, since he has captured this spunky, loyal and loving breed perfectly!
I love this little story. It's a "boy and his dog" story and the charm of the Airedale comes out. It's just a quick, pleasant read and if you love Airedales you'll love the story.
Book is lovely! Airedale Terriers are the best dogs ever.
A short collection of connected stories of a young boy and his first dog. These are very wholesome happy stories, for the most part. But they ring true and are pleasantly unaffected and direct. The boy's bond and pride in his dog comes through strong and give these simple memories an emotional oomph that stuck with me. I'm glad I read this book.
I did enjoy this book very much because four weeks ago I got my second Airedale Terrier. I named him Charlie just like my first one which was a present from my sons after the passing of my first wife. When I was a young boy my parents had first a Fox Terrier, than a Scotch Terrier and last an Airedale Terrier who got killed by a snow plow.
